Neglect.

This blog is neglected because my life is chaotic. But that isn’t a good reason for not giving regular blog updates.

I need to find a way to make updating this blog work with my 7 class a semester work schedule and passion for being a good teacher/husband/father all work well together.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

  1. Has this blog ever had regular updates?

All kidding aside. I see you originally thought about a daily blog. Try a blog that is updated weekly. Write for ten minutes a day, wherever you can squeeze it in (on the can, driving, eating, all three), in a notebook or on a word processor with the file synced with a drive on all your computers, phones or what have you. At the end of the week, always the same time say Sunday evening, post that 70 minutes worth of writing no matter how scattered or incoherent it may be, or perhaps give yourself a half of an hour to compile and edit that week’s worth of material. You could even date each 10 minute session or not, whatever. A year will go by and you’ll have 52 blog posts, and any blog activity is better than no blog activity.

Or any other semi-habitual routine and deadline system. Try to write because you have to, not because you want to or feel like it. Otherwise you’ll never feel like it. But it should be daily, and no moving the skipped minutes and missed sessions onto other days – if you fail, you don’t get that time back. X amount of minutes per day, and only X amount of minutes per day, no shuffling or carrying over. It would help if you always choose the same time of day and environment. Over time, a habit will set in and help it along. You’ll probably also get better at thinking of subject matter and composing it in you head during the time when you cannot write, even if you wanted to.

There are some suggestions for ya, hope you find something that works.
